Around Town
Martin's BBQChoosing a barbeque spot to recommend in Nashville is no simple thing. Discourse about the merits of one well-loved shop over another can get as heated as the sauce, with locals holding fiercely to their favorites. But one name that came up again and again? Martin’s. With a crowd-friendly location and some seriously swoon-worthy slabs, be sure to invite friends.
Mornings? You can always count on Hearts for a hopping brunch scene—and some seriously inventive coffee and cocktails (bright red heartbeet latte, anyone?). The menu is Aussie-inspired. The vibes are out of this world.
Nashville’s first multi-roaster coffee shop, Dose is known for hosting various roasters from around the country. The scene is similarly adventurous, offering brewing classes, chocolate tastings and tea pairings. With several locations around town, it’s a great place to get into the culture of Nashville.
Fitness
Shakti YogaGet your om on in the heart of Music Row, where Shakti Yoga is located in a historic 150-year-old house. With everything from power flow to restorative and even classes for kids, the Shakti Yoga community covers everything a visiting yogi might need for breathwork, meditation and flow. Check out their donation-based classes.
The cycling studio that grew—quickly—from word-of-mouth. Founder Kenzie Todd hosted Full Ride Cycling classes at various locations all over the city (she even led classes out of a shipping container once) before landing in her beautiful new location in 12 South, one of Nashville’s most coveted neighborhoods. FRC seeks to inspire connection and community. Plus, you’ll work up a good sweat.
Where to Explore
Right along the Cumberland River in East Nashville is Shelby Bottoms, nearly 1,300 acres of bluffs and rolling hills that simply demand to be explored. The nature preserve is a great spot for a woodsy hike within minutes of downtown. With open fields, wetlands and streams, it’s a local favorite for running and walking.
Suit up for your Shelby Bottoms hikes—or a night on the town—at the new Vuori shop in 12 South. For a perfect day? Start out with a Full Ride Cycling session, then treat yourself to brunch at the new Hearts location nearby, followed by some shopping with us. Stop by, say hi, and shop all our fresh new styles for the season.
