Perfect day for a hike
The goal of the Perfect Day (PxD) is to cram in as much fun and adventure into a 24-hour period as possible. The only rule is to have fun doing the things that bring you energy, joy and stoke so you can continue showing up in life as the best version of yourself. PxD can mean different things to different people, from a multidisciplinary “Perfect Mountain Day” (PMD) of rock climbing, skiing, hiking, hotspring-ing or simply a “Perfect Beach Day” (PBD) consisting of morning yoga, surfing and chilling at the beach with friends. Whatever your day may bring, make it perfectly worth while. This ideology, coined from our friend Greg Nowicki, gave us a little glimpse into his version of a Perfect mountain Day.

Part I The Buttermilks
Time: 6:45 AM
Buttermilk Country sits just west of Bishop, CA at the base of the Eastern Sierra and is home to some of the biggest, proudest and most aesthetic climbs in the world. Our group woke up just as the sun rose across the valley, packed up camp and headed towards the boulders.

Welp, it’s not an adventure until something goes awry! Savannah (the “Vannah”), Cody’s 1998 GMC campervan ran into some mechanical issues. Nothing a few ratchet straps (and beer!) couldn’t fix. Luckily, she was able to start one last time, just enough to get her to town for repairs.

Part II Tuolumne Meadows
Time: 1:30 PM
After getting Savannah to the shop, we drove along 395 N to the Eastern entrance of Yosemite NPS. The Yosemite “high country” is easily one of the most underrated areas of the park, and we were about to visit one of its most exciting attractions: the water slide.

Part II Tuolumne Meadows (cont'd)
Time: 4:00 PM
A few miles in, we broke off the main trail and followed a small creek. The dirt path beneath our feet turned into granite slabs as we neared our destination. Rounding the corner, the trees thinned out revealing a massive valley of granite leading toward Half Dome. This was it!

Part III Stately Pleasure Sunset
Time: 7:30 PM
So after the climbing, the driving, the water-sliding and everything in between, how does one appropriately end The Perfect Mountain Day? With one final hike up to the Stately Pleasure Dome for sunset!
